Breakfast With Jesus: 1 JOHN 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Seek to improve everyday

Face the truth about yourself. Agree with the reality of who you are and what you have done that you might be free from that which holds you back.

God has set up a wonderful system in which we only need to agree with Him regarding our offenses and He takes the punishment. We are not punished for our crimes against the Almighty.  We are cleansed. We are forgiven.

We need to demonstrate a change of mind towards the offense. Move in a different direction rather than down the same offensive set of actions and words.

I have found it helpful to have a checklist of positive and/or negative actions that we use as a plumb bob for our lives.

Negative: The Seven Deadly Sins: Pride, Envy, Anger, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Greed. Ask God to reveal any of these that you have been guilty of in the last 24 hours. If He points out something that was not right, then agree with Him that it was wrong and ask Him to apply the blood of Christ to that sin. If you have repeatedly done something wrong, then plan on ways to avoid giving into that sin tomorrow.

Positive: The Fruit of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, and Self-Control. Ask the Lord where you allowed Him to flow through you in the last 24 hours to produce these qualities in your life. Thank God for each fruit that was produced.
